Our Loden Clothing for Women: Stylish, Natural & Sustainable
We produce our loden clothing entirely in Austria, 100% in-house. The loden is made from 100% new wool (non-mulesing wool), a renewable raw material, produced in our loden manufactory in Ramsau am Dachstein. Loden has been produced here traditionally and carefully for centuries.
Our women's clothing made from loden combines style, craftsmanship and exceptional comfort. The finest loden has been processed at Lodenwalke Ramsau for almost 600 years - a wealth of experience that is woven into every garment we create. It is the well thought-out cuts and the successful mix of timeless elegance and modern style. Our women's clothing made from loden can be combined in a variety of ways – for everyday wear, leisure or special occasions. We create classics for the wardrobe that are long-lasting and do not go out of fashion quickly. A careful blend of different types of wool creates a unique loden fabric that is not only particularly soft and cosy, but also durable and hard-wearing. For our loden clothing, we only use 100% new wool from responsibly reared sheep (non-mulesing) to perfectly combine quality, sustainability and well-being.
Our products are made from 100% Lodenwalker Ramsau. From raw wool to finished loden, we produce all of our fabrics on-site at the Lodenwalke Ramsau. In the heart of nature, the loden is crafted through many steps of craftsmanship. Even the energy used for production comes from our own hydroelectric power stations. The entire collection is sewn and processed in our in-house tailoring workshop in Ramsau am Dachstein and at our company-owned tailoring workshop in Wildon (Styria).
New wool is an unsurpassed, natural high-tech fibre. It is a renewable raw material and biodegradable. Due to its composition, structure, and natural lanolin content (wool fat), new wool is breathable, temperature-balancing, odourless, and soothing. When refined into loden fabric, new wool reveals its full potential: loden is water-repellent, quiet and particularly easy to care for.
With loden, you are prepared for all eventualities. Our collection covers all seasons and offers not only sporty loden apparel but also timeless classics and fashionable jackets, coats, and trousers. Traditional costumes are also deeply rooted in loden and therefore an essential part of our range. For those who appreciate the special benefits of nature and love natural fibers, loden is the ideal functional clothing. It’s important to air the garment thoroughly in fresh air. This will help release unpleasant odors and refresh garments made of loden or new wool. Dirt and stains are best brushed out with a mild vinegar-water solution and a fine clothes brush. Optionally, unlined garments without inner fabrics can also be hand-washed and rinsed with lukewarm water. Detailed care instructions can be found here.
