It is also a renewable raw material and completely biodegradable.
Breathable
Temperature balancing
Odour neutral
Water repellent
Thanks to natural lanolin, wool is naturally waterproof. Rain and snow just roll off. New wool can absorb up to 33% of its weight without feeling moist. As a single fibre, it offers warmth even when wet.
Almost windproof
Wool has a roof-tile structure which is packed even more tightly during the fulling process. The individual wool fibres are indissolubly combined with each other to form an almost windproof surface.
Flame retardant
Due to its unique biochemical make-up, wool is incredibly flame retardant and is significantly less vulnerable to fire and flying sparks. Instead of burning, wool simply chars and smolders.
