Breathable
The fibres of wool, similar to human hair, are complex fibrous structures made up of the protein keratin. The wool fibre consists of 85% air and therefore effectively enables the exchange between body and environment.
Temperature balancing
Wool "warms", although wool itself only stores the body's heat. Wool has a particularly effective, natural thermoregulation property, which is supported by the numerous air pockets in the fibres.
Odour neutral
In contrast to synthetic fibres, wool is self-cleaning and resists odours. Odours stay on the fibre surface and are expelled by airing. Simply air your wool product for a fresh smell.
Water repellent
Thanks to the natural lanolin (wool fat) the wool has natural waterproofing. Rain and snow just roll off. New wool can absorb up to 33% of its own weight without feeling moist. As a single fibre, new wool can offer warmth even when it is wet.

Wool has a roof-tile structure which is packed even more tightly during the fulling process. The individual wool fibres are indissolubly combined with each other to form an almost windproof surface..
